Sri Lanka is a small and beautiful island country in South Asia. It is in the Indian Ocean. The capital city is Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, and Colombo is the main city. About 22 million people live in Sri Lanka. People speak Sinhala and Tamil, and English is also used.

Sri Lanka is very beautiful. It has mountains, rivers, forests, and beaches. The middle part of the country has green hills where people grow tea. Many animals live in Sri Lanka, such as elephants, leopards, monkeys, and colourful birds. There are national parks like Yala and Udawalawe to protect animals.The culture of Sri Lanka is rich and old. People follow different religions like Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. They have many festivals such as Vesak and the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. People dance, sing, and wear traditional clothes during festivals.Food in Sri Lanka is delicious. People eat rice and curry, hoppers, string hoppers,  and seafood. Spices are used in most dishes, giving food a good taste, Sri Lanka is a wonderful country. It has natural beauty, rich culture, happy people, and tasty food. It is a good place to visit and learn about nature and traditions.

MY JOB PLACE

  My job place is the school. Every morning, children greet me with a smile and say “Good Morning Teacher.” They show me love and respect which makes me very happy. My subject is dancing  and the students enjoy it very much. They love spending time in the dancing room. When I come to school in the morning they often say, “Today we have dancing ” That shows how excited they are. Because I cannot see them often now, they feel sad and I also feel sorry. I miss them very much, and I am proud of the time I spent teaching them. My school is not only my workplace it is a place full of love, joy and beautiful memories.
